Ingredients

Quantity:
3 kg Octopus from one of the Blue Island Fish Markets
1 cup dry red wine
1/2 cup olive oil
1 – 2 cinnamon sticks
1 teaspoon allspice
1 cup water
2 slices orange peel

Purchase the octopus from one of the Blue Island Fish Markets.

Wash and drain the octopus well.

Put the octopus in a pan with very little water for about 20 minutes until the octopus is drained. Then drain all the water and chop into pieces.

Then, put the octopus in a pan and add the wine, olive oil, water, black pepper, cinnamon and orange. Make sure that the water, wine and olive oil cover the octopus. Add more if necessary. Cook on a medium to high heat for about 1½ hours. If it looks dry during cooking, add water.

Serve with rice and salad.
