1 kg Calamari

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup cornflour

1 teaspoon turmeric

Sea salt

Ground black pepper

Sunflower oil for frying
Instructions
Purchase the cleaned Calamari from one of the Blue Island Fish Markets
Wash and drain the squid.
Cut the squid vertically down the middle and then cut into long, thin strips.
Mix the flour, cornmeal, turmeric, and pepper in a container. Add the Calamari strips and flour them. Use a colander to remove any excess flour. Fry them in hot oil until they go a golden brown colour.
Move to a plate covered with paper towels to remove any excess oil.
Sprinkle with sea salt and serve.
