Blue Island activities
The main core of the company’s activities is the breeding of the Mediterranean Sea Bass and Sea Bream species and the marketing of fresh fish from offshore fishing.
The company was founded in 1993 (under the name Blue Island Fish Farming Ltd.) as a marine farming unit. An important development in 1999 for the company was the change to being a public company and being listed on the Cyprus Stock Exchange. This development contributed to the development of the company both in the field of marine farming and in the field of fresh fish marketing.
Today, the company stands out in the Cypriot market in the areas of seafood and fish trading, thanks to its modern organisational structure and infrastructure. Both the structure and the infrastructure of the company are constantly reviewed and developed in order to offer a reliable and comprehensive customer service, both in Cyprus and abroad.
The main areas of activity of the company are:
- Production of fish through its subsidiary: Blue Fisheries Ltd., in the Akrotiri area.
- Fish farming through its fish farm in the Governor’s Beach area.
- Wholesale trade in Cyprus and abroad; through the fish processing/packaging/warehousing plant in the Strovolos Industrial Area.
- Retail trade; through its fish markets and stores in supermarket chains.

Retail Sales:
Sales through its network of fish markets and stores in supermarket chains throughout the island.
Wholesale Sales:
Supply of our products to other fish markets and seafood restaurants throughout Cyprus.
Supply fish to hotels and restaurants throughout the island.
Exports:
Fish exports to countries in Europe, the United States, Spain and the Middle East. Fish from the fish farm, mainly Sea Bass and Sea Bream as well as other Mediterranean fish such as Tuna, Swordfish and so on, caught by Cypriot fishermen.
Sale of fish products, through its subsidiary Blue Fisheries Ltd., to fish farms both in Cyprus and abroad.
Today the company employs about 190 people and has fish markets and customer service points throughout Cyprus.
